For quite some time now, the tassel trend has been rocking the store shelves just about everywhere you go. The tassel take over started out on the runways and has trickled down to the outlets us mere mortals can access. Whether it be earrings, bags or clothing, tassel embellishment are omnipresent.

Personally, I have found myself gravitating to tassel or fringe skirts for their daintiness and their ability to add a lot of movement and flair to any outfit. While I haven't found my usual style to be very similar to any of the Kardashian/Jenners, this trend has me right on par with them in terms of our sartorial choices. While the elder Kim has been killin' it in a whole heap of tassel/fringe skirts, her younger sister Kylie went a step ahead and imitated the hula skirt aesthetic with a long fringe belt. Our favorite from her though has been this look, featuring a very similar skirt to the one I have styled, paired with a tight crop.

We styled ours however, with a slightly longer swing top for a more formal affair. You can find our skirt here or choose from several other variations.

On an aside, shooting this look in what I consider to be one of the most beautiful buildings in Sydney was a bit of an accident but one I'm thankful for (bless that lighting). I let lose of my posing inhibitions as well as minimum pictures policy, to play around with the lighting and the shadows.
