With temperatures starting to rise here in Sydney (last Friday graced us with 40 degree heat), it is time to bring out the prints and light, flowing skirts. A recent addition to my wardrobe has been this open back split top. I like to think of this as the backless top for the modest, adding just a  hint of allure while also keeping things cool and breezy. Keeping the recent heatwave in mind, I must admit the practicality of this top. While I previously refrained from wearing backless tops due to the hassle of finding the perfect inner wear, this top comes free of those restraints. As you can probably see from the photographs, the split begins just below my inner wear allowing me to throw on this top when the weather starts to flare up and stay comfortable in a 'no fuss' way.

Moving on to the more minute details, a particular trend that has caught my attention from the Spring/Summer 2016 shows has been the comeback of the shoulder-grazing earrings. I fondly remember this trend being the 'it' thing in the early two thousands where everyone rocked the long diamante laden earrings with a whole lot of pizaz and I'm pretty smitten with its revival. The last time I recall being so enthusiastic about earring trends was with the ear cuff trend which I happily showed off here and here. While I love statement studs, longer earrings have a way of flattering and elongating the neck and adding movement around the face. I bought my pair from Lovisa and the flirty combination of pearl and tassels works well with my feminine outfit. I'm definitely on this bandwagon and can't wait to experiment it with some more restrained outfits.
